Hip Timeline

Here is a timeline I’ve done to summerise the key events in my ‘recovery’ from injury.   Useful to have for doctors visits.

  1. This is AMAZING! I am going to link this off my blog as I have never seen anything quite like it. 🙂 I hope you find the answer to your hip issues soon.

  2. Hello Julia

I reckon this is amazing as every time you go to DR you have to go through everything again even if they have your notes…and you don’t remember everything!!!

  3. Julia – what does your hip locking feel like? Do you get pain in the back/si jont/glutes too – or just the front/groin area? This chart was pretty amazing! RL x

    1. Hi Robyn. Thanks for the feedback on the chart. The hip locking feels like something deep in the hip gets stuck. When it happens I want to wiggle my leg to get it release. Sometimes it clicks, sometimes it releases by itself.

The pain in the groin is the most annoying, especially when I’m sitting. I also get pain in my buttocks (intermittent) and in my sacrum area/back of my pelvis (fairly constant). Also, if my hip is too tight/sore my knee often plays up.

Ah… The human body… So interconnected!

  4. Thanks Julia– yes ths all rings true for me too – though my posterior pain was where it all began – and the anterior is much worse since FAI surgery. Just read your new post (toilet seats)…. had to giggle 🙂 ~ so glad to have inspired your poem — was really good!!
